Coaching is NOT allowed any time within 15ft. of the shooting box. and while your squad is shooting. Coaches MUST stand directly behind the shooting box, within arms length of a shooter. Squad members are allowed to coach/help each other at anytime, anywhere. Coaches will have violations boxes on each scorecard that will record warnings given to coaches. The squad will be disqualified if there is another issue on the same rotation/day of event. Head coaches must turn in all event registration forms no later then Wednesday at 5:00pm prior to an event. Head coaches are 100% responsible for the payment of all youth registered for an event, even if they are unable to attend.
MALFUNCTIONS, PROTESTS & SQUADS
Each shooter will get a TOTAL of 3 malfunctions without any lost targets. After a shooter uses the 3 Malfunctions, any other malfunctions will be counted as a LOST target. Malfunctions can be defined in the NCSA Rule Book.
If a shooter questions a referee, this MUST be addressed by ONLY the shooter and the coach BEFORE leaving the shooting station. If the shooter leaves the shooting station and then comes back, the target in question will be scored the way the referee initially called the target. In the event that the problem connot be resolved by the field judge/referee, a Head Coach may file a protest. The protest will consist of a meeting of one or more SCYSF officials and Club Manager/Owner to resolve the problem. There will be a $50 fee to file a protest. If a parent or other family member addresses the referee, the SCYSF board has the authority to disqualify the entire squad. We recommend family members and friends to not get involved in discussions with refrees.
This is NOT an individual event. Everyone must shoot as part of a squad. Sporting clay and skeet have 3 three person squads. Trap has 5 person squads. All squad members must be from the same team for their score to be a competitive score. SCYSF may combine shooters from several teams to make a complete squad; the scores from these teams will NOT be considered a competitive score. The individual scores will qualify for the HOA award.
