About SCYSF

The South Carolina Youth Shooting Foundation was started by a few clay target shooting enthusiasts, who were interested in creating an organization to enable “youth” a better opportunity to enjoy the art of clay target shooting. In 2008, the SCYSF was formed and recognized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. In the first year of operation, the SCYSF had 377 different youth participation in Skeet, Trap, and Sporting Clays events. Our goal is to introduce youth to not only enjoy the outdoors, but to learn safety with firearms, accuracy, and to meet other youth from around the state.
We are excited about the prospects of this program and the opportunities we have to instill life skills in youth involved in this program. Skills such as respect, ethics, sportsmanship, teamwork, focus, dedication, and commitment are skills to be mastered to become a productive and contributing member of society. “Shooting” is simply the vehicle with which we can deliver our message.
